Terms of use, in plain words
Newly Poor is a free guide to earning money and finding help. These terms explain what the site is, what it isn't, and what you can expect from it. By using newlypoor.com, you agree to them.
The short version: this site is free general information, not professional advice. We work hard to get it right, but rules change and we can make mistakes, so always confirm with the official source before you act. What you decide to do is up to you.
1. What this site is
Newly Poor (newlypoor.com) gives free, general information about ways to earn money and programs that help with food, bills, housing, health care and taxes. It's free to use, and there are no accounts.
We are not a government agency, and we're not part of, endorsed by or working for any program, company, app or organization we mention unless we clearly say so. We can't take applications, approve benefits, or speak for any agency.
2. Not professional advice
Everything here is general information, not legal, financial, tax, medical or immigration advice, and using the site doesn't create any professional relationship with us. For advice about your own situation, talk to a qualified professional, a free legal aid office, a free tax site (VITA), or a doctor.
3. Accuracy and our checkers
Program rules, income limits, benefit amounts, pay rates and company policies change often. We check official sources and date our pages, but we can't promise every page is complete, current or error-free.
Our checkers and calculators (like the benefits check, SNAP check and earnings calculator) give rough estimates, not decisions. Only the agency or company can decide whether you qualify or what you'll get. Always confirm with them before you rely on anything here. If you spot a mistake, please tell us.
4. No guaranteed results
We can't guarantee that you'll qualify for any program, earn any amount, get hired, be accepted into a study, or sell anything for a certain price. Examples and estimates on this site are just that.
5. Your choices and your safety
You're responsible for the decisions you make using this site. Some ways to earn money carry real risks:
- Plasma donation and research studies can affect your health. Ask a doctor first if you have health conditions or take medicine, and read every consent form.
- Gig, delivery, rideshare and day labor work involve driving, physical work and your own expenses. Follow the law and each company's safety rules.
- Selling to strangers carries a risk of scams and unsafe meetups. Use our safety tips and meet in public.
- Taxes: money you earn may be taxable, and you're responsible for reporting it.
6. Other websites and places
We link to and list government agencies, nonprofits, companies, apps, stores and local places for your convenience. They're run by others. A link or listing isn't an endorsement, and we're not responsible for their content, services, privacy practices or how they treat you.
Place details (like addresses, phone numbers and hours) come from public sources such as OpenStreetMap and government data. They may be wrong or out of date, so call before you go.
7. Money we make
Right now we don't get paid for any link on this site. If we add affiliate links (links that pay us if you sign up) or ads, we'll label them clearly and update these terms and our privacy policy first. Getting paid will never change whether we warn you about a risk.
8. The site is provided "as is"
To the fullest extent the law allows, newlypoor.com is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't promise the site will always be available or free of errors.
9. Limits on our liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Newly Poor and the people who run it aren't liable for any loss or damage that comes from using, or not being able to use, this site or any site, program, company or place we mention. That includes lost money, lost benefits, missed deadlines, and indirect or consequential damages. Some places don't allow these limits, so some of them may not apply to you.
10. Using the site fairly
Please don't misuse the site: don't try to break it, overload it, or copy large parts of it to pass off as your own. You're welcome to share links to any page.
11. Changes and contact
We may update these terms as the site changes. We'll change the date at the top when we do, and continuing to use the site means you accept the updated terms. Questions? Email hello@newlypoor.com.
